Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position for a Construction Drafter (Ductwork) located in Brooklyn, NY. The Construction Drafter will be responsible for creating and preparing architectural drawings and plans related to ductwork design and installation. The role also involves interpreting technical specifications, collaborating with the project team, and ensuring designs align with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed ductwork shop drawings and fabrication drawings
- Develop and maintain HVAC models using Revit
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve clashes
- Coordinate duct layouts with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural trades
- Conduct site visits to verify measurements and ensure drawings align with field conditions
- Update drawings based on project revisions and field changes
- Ensure all drafting meets project specifications and industry standards
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in construction drafting, specifically ductwork/HVAC
- Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows
- Experience with clash detection and coordination (Navisworks experience is an advantage)
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems and construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a project team environment
- Willingness to attend and work from project sites as required
- Trade or technical diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects
- Knowledge of local building codes and standards
