Job Summary
IHI Power Plant - Rockaway Peakers location in Rockaway, NY is looking for an inquisitive and highly motivated person who can effectively communicate to join our team as a Summer Intern in 2026 . Our dynamic team is highly skilled in our field and enjoys teaching others what we are passionate about. If you are selected for the internship you will learn about an industry that is essential to everyday life.
Focal areas will include industrial processes, control systems, thermodynamics, process improvement, business acumen, and much more.

Job Functions
- Complete web-based safety, environmental, compliance, and operational training.
- Gain exposure to the broad range of power generation career paths by shadowing various craft and management level personnel.
- Learn the basic function and safe use of tools used in power generation.
- Document your experience and present a summary of your time at Armstrong Power to Management.
Education
Preferred but not required:
- Currently enrolled in or planning on attending a 2–4-year program, or interested in exploring employment opportunities within the power industry.
- At least a 2.5 cumulative GPA

- Salary Range: $25.00/Hour

8:00am-3:00pm with a 1 hour lunch, Monday-Thursday - Travel Percentage:
