Job DescriptionWSP is launching a search for a Part‑Time Asbestos Project Monitor, based in New York, NY, in our Earth & Environment Team. The role focuses on asbestos abatement and monitoring across multiple industry sectors.
Your Impact- Act as the asbestos technician representatives during asbestos abatements in various industry sectors.
- Follow instructions from Project Managers and senior project monitors.
- Monitor final air clearance during asbestos abatements.
- Collect PCM and TEM air samples, record chain of custody, maintain daily logs, and report results in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Frequent travel throughout New York City, State, and Long Island; reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
- Exercise responsible decision‑making regarding company funds, conduct, and compliance with WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- High school graduate.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work multiple shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Own vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight‑fitting respirator.
- OSHA 10‑hour / 30‑hour Construction Certificate.
- Updated Fit Test and Medical Testing documents.
- 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER.
- At least two of the following licenses:
- NYS DOL Project Monitor
- NYS DOL Asbestos Sampling Technician
- OSHA 10‑Hour Construction Safety and Health

CompensationExpected Salary (all locations): $55,400 – $91,300.
WSP USA provides the compensation range that the company believes it might pay, based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range or offer additional benefits not related to protected status.
