Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role located in Pearl River, NY for a Technology Construction Estimator. In this role, the individual will be responsible for preparing accurate construction estimates, performing quantity take-offs, and managing project costs. Additionally, the role involves creating budgets and actively communicating with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements and deadlines.
Role ResponsibilitiesInterface and Walk Customer/GC through Engineering Process;
Confirm Deliverables/Dates, Upload Bid Info into Building Connected. Earn Trust
Download and Review of Bid Documents;
Attend Surveys, Walk-throughs and Bid Meetings. Prepare and Submit RFIs.
Estimate / Cost / Design Quote, Obtain Material Pricing, Submission of Proposal to GC/Customer
Collaborate with Salesperson/Upper Management, if not the salesperson directly, on award of the project – working towards Estimating’s Conversion Rate Goals and Sale’s Revenue Goals.
Collaborate with other Estimators in Reviewing Bid Submissions, Strategies and Labor Units. Teach and Mentor Jr. Estimators, Assign Projects.
Knowledge and Accountability Transfer to Project Management Team upon Award
This role involves all steps involved in creating low voltage systems proposals; customer/GC interaction, plan take-off, material pricing, labor estimating, quote creation and submission by set bid deadline or in a timely manner. In addition to the following
- Download and Review of Bid Documents;
Plans, Spec, Schedule, RFP, SOW, addendums, etc… - Attend Schedule Walk-Throughs and Site Surveys as necessary
- Interface with Customer of GC Contact;
Prepare and Submit RFIs - Coordinate with LV Systems help or sub-contractor if need be.
- Upload and maintain project documents/data into software (Bluebeam, Building Connected, etc..)
- Perform Take-Offs/Material Quantities
- Create BOM and Submit to Distribution for Competitive Pricing
- Create Bid Worksheet (Excel or Bluebeam as applicable)
- Proposal Creation;
Breakout SOW by task and apply unitized labor hours, Include all requested information. - Bid Submission, Follow Ups and Revisions
- Project Hand-off upon award

- Must possess a knowledge and understanding of practical commercial construction
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have willingness to learn both in our multidisciplinary offerings and our software platforms
- Must have excellent time management skills and be able to multitask in an often fast paced competitive bid environment; able to execute quickly
- Proficient in Telecommunications and labor estimating
- Knowledgeable in Basic Audio Visual and Card Access and Surveillance systems installation
- Experienced in GC bidding process (take-offs, RFIs, creation of BOMs, format submissions as required)
- Capable of performing site surveys, capturing the required information and can speak to our offerings with confidence.
- Must be flexible/comfortable with driving to attend occasional job site meetings throughout the state of NJ, NY, and NY City, if deemed necessary
- Strong skills in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs
- Proficiency in Cost Management and Budgeting for construction projects
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with relevant construction and estimating software is a plus
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Must be willing to work Onsite
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must have access to a motorized vehicle
- Must be willing to commute to Office Location in Pearl River, NY
