Location: New York

  • Develop and grow domestic government and defense sales through accurate, competitive technical quotations.
  • Manage quotes, work orders, and sales orders within the ERP system, ensuring customer requirements are clearly translated for internal teams.
  • Act as the internal resource for U.S. government programs, domestic manufacturing requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Build and expand relationships with shipyards, defense contractors, and government buyers.
  • Identify new opportunities by monitoring market activity, upcoming programs, and procurement trends.
  • Serve as a technical and commercial point of contact for customers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, production, quality, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure feasibility, pricing accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Support strategic domestic manufacturing initiatives and assist leadership with related projects.
  • Travel as needed to customer locations, shipyards, and industry events.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for quoting and submission requirements.
  • Participate in trade shows and other business development activities.
  • Follow internal processes for quotes, orders, returns, and system usage.
  • Contribute to internal training and knowledge-building related to government and defense business.
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of experience in government, defense, Navy, or shipyard-related sales or support (valve industry experience preferred but not required).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. government procurement platforms and defense market dynamics.
  • Experience working with Navy commands such as NAVSEA or NAVAIR.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial valves, materials, and relevant specifications (API, ASME, Mil‑Spec, shock/vibration standards).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical requirements.
  • Experience preparing detailed quotations, BOMs, and managing orders in ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow business through networking and strategic outreach.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex opportunities.
  • Highly independent, detail‑oriented, and comfortable collaborating across multiple departments.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
