Job DescriptionAECOM Hunt is seeking an Assistant Construction Project Manager II in New York, NY.
Job details:
- Specialize in project and program management for construction projects delivering engineering, design, and consulting services to a variety of clients.
- Responsible for scrutiny of cost control, project controls, construction documents controls, ensuring contract compliance, distribution of construction documents, processing of transmittals and requests for Information (RFIs).
- Review shop drawings and submittals and change order tracking/processing.
- Assist on project controls-related duties and developing and writing scopes of work.
- Develop monthly and weekly reports.
- Expertise in validating estimates/cost proposals in detail and providing/requesting precise and critical comments/questions on cost proposals.
- Track and distribute cost items with contractors and clients, cost reports, cost tracking, and develop Job Cost Analysis reports.
- Manage trade subcontracts, and coordination with design, field, and project management teams.
- Develop multidisciplinary engineering estimates and construction schedules using engineering drawings, technical and on-field knowledge.
- Train new team members.
- Organize and run change order meetings to discuss the scope of work and related cost of the change order with client. Identify risks, opportunities, and mitigate potential problematic situations before they occur.
- Regulate and scrutinize daily activities as mentioned in specifications and contracts.
- Perform site walks with stakeholders, clients, and contractors to develop a punch list.
- Track the completion of punch list items and ensure the quality of work is in compliance with the specifications. Review bids.
- Negotiation of awards.
- Conduct constructability studies.
- Review scopes of work and contractor startups. Facilitate page turn meetings.
- Review product data. Material procurement, tracking, and reporting.
- Compliance of MWBE with owners and subs, including workforce compliance, labor rates, review of subcontractor bills, and field walks for WIP.
- Schedule knowledge and responsibilities to meet the schedule.
- Tracking and preparing schedules for new change orders, schedule compression, BIM coordination for trades, quality control of WIP, LEED knowledge and compliance tracking and enforcing.
- Punch list, closeout checklist, helping in the creation of as-built drawings.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
