Partner-led engineering firm in NYC is hiring a drafter to support capacity across building envelope, structural, parking, and mechanical engineering disciplines.
About the firmEstablished restoration and building envelope engineering firm expanding into a full-service platform. Recent growth includes structural engineering, parking structures, and incoming mechanical engineering capability. Client retention is high. Projects are repeat-driven, not RFP-based. Leadership is hands-on and in the work.
The roleProduction drafting across mechanical, architectural, and structural disciplines. This is not a stepping stone to engineering or architecture. This is for someone who wants to draft, stay in drafting, and do it well.
High profile projects throughout NYC. Varied building types, systems, and technical conditions.
Responsibilities- Produce construction and technical drawings across multiple engineering disciplines
- Translate engineering sketches and direction into detailed, code-compliant drawings
- Coordinate with engineers to refine details and resolve technical questions
- Update and revise drawings based on project progress and feedback
- Maintain organized file structures and drawing sets
- Work on multiple active projects simultaneously
- 3+ years of drafting experience in engineering or architecture
- AutoCAD proficiency (required)
- Revit, Rhino, Sketch Up, Tekla, Adobe suite (bonus)
- Ability to move between disciplines without losing quality
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering direction
- Comfort working independently while coordinating with project teams
