Overview
As a senior technical leader, you will play a critical role in originating, developing and implementing cutting‑edge controls algorithms, dynamic system modeling, and real‑time optimization solutions for GE Vernova’s systems in our businesses including Power, Wind, and Electrification. You will develop technology and product roadmaps and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, government agencies (DOE and DOD), and industry partners to advance the state‑of‑the‑art in controls and optimization and ensure the performance, stability, and efficiency of our systems.
You will shape and foster strategic collaborations with Universities and strategic technology / business / external partners to drive innovative controls solutions for GE Vernova.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in controls algorithms, dynamic system modeling, and real‑time optimization to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance system performance, efficiency, security and reliability.
- Lead early stage technology development with high disruption potential and mature these technologies from initial concept to successful product introduction.
- Coordinate disruptive technology efforts in close collaboration with our GEV businesses and ensure that such efforts are incorporated into long‑term multi‑generational technology and product road maps and plans.
- Drive technology and product roadmaps to ensure our businesses have a multi‑year strategic plan that is competitive and differentiated.
- Providing technical leadership across GE Vernova on disruptive technologies and market trends with a strong understanding of controls challenges, energy systems evolution, and the competition.
- Shape and develop government funding pipeline of projects to build a portfolio of new controls and optimization technologies for GE Vernova.
- PhD or Doctorate degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
- A minimum 10 years of experience developing and deploying advanced controls algorithms and optimization systems to business and production environments.
- A minimum 10 years of experience leading teams or large technical development projects.
- Demonstrated deep domain knowledge in controls algorithms, dynamic system modeling, real‑time optimization, and model predictive control.
- Experience leading large research programs, writing successful R&D proposals, and demonstrated ability to take an idea from concept to a deployable product.

Characteristics
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary programs.
- Industrial experience in the field of controls engineering, power systems control, or energy systems optimization.
- Demonstrated capabilities in related fields such as adaptive control, nonlinear control, state estimation, fault and intrusion detection and system identification.
- Ability to make decisions with confidence when problems or solutions are not well defined.
- Demonstrated capability to thrive in a matrixed team environment.
- Familiarity with multiple GE businesses and shown ability to leverage cross‑business networks to achieve outcomes.
- Experience with GE Vernova products and systems in the Power, Wind, and Electrification businesses.
- Shown ability to manage risk and uncertainty for self and team within a dynamic priority‑setting environment.
