Faction Imaging is searching for engineers to conceive, develop and deploy navigation and real-time optimization algorithms in the domains of robotics and medical imaging.

The ideal candidate will apply their background in state-of-the-art machine learning to invent, implement and demonstrate the performance of algorithms that solve challenging problems in autonomous navigation and real-time optimization.

You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team to create the next generation of medical imaging - working to improve a critical medical procedure performed millions of time each year.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, train and test models and algorithms for autonomous robotic navigation systems
  • Conceive of creative ideas and create testable hypothesis and experiments to validate them
  • Rapidly implement and iterate on research ideas using Python
  • Collaborate with control engineers to integrate algorithms into the robotic control stack
  • Own the research and development process from requirements and user needs through to proof of concept and demonstration of reliable performance
  • Clearly communicate findings and trade-offs to members of the research and development team
  • Provide feedback and mentorship to other members of the research and development team
Required Qualifications
  • BSc in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
  • 8+ years industry experience (or 5+ years for candidates with a PhD)
  • Thorough understanding and experience implementing state-of-the-art machine learning models for robotics such as transformers, diffusion models, vision-language-action models, video encoders and generative models for simulation
  • Thorough understanding and experience training models for robotics applications using supervised learning and reinforcement learning
  • Experience developing ML algorithms for visual perception, including the use of convolutional neural networks and vision transformers
  • Experience using simulated environments for model training and evaluation:
    Isaac Lab/Sim, Mujoco, Gazebo
  • Extensive experience with python and frameworks such as Py Torch
  • Skilled in version control (git) and familiarity with modern software development, debugging, and logging tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field
  • Experience in medical imaging, image-guided robotics, or autonomous systems in regulated domains
  • Passion for working in the field of medicine and medical robotics
  • Proven track record, including publications in top conferences (e.g., ICRA, CoRL, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICLR).
