Mechanical Engineer; Plumbing

Overview

Ai-Alt is seeking a talented, and motivated Mechanical Engineer with excellent analytical and technical capabilities for the design of Plumbing Systems for our building design projects.

As a new Mechanical Engineer at Ai-Alt, you will be able to spend your first few months adapting to our efficient design approach before diving into specific assignments that further develop your technical skills while assisting other members of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) team involving the following tasks:

• Develop conceptual designs, select equipment, perform hydraulic calculations, and prepare drawings and specifications for Plumbing Systems.
• Make project site visits to document existing systems and gather existing Owner documentation.
• Complete construction phase services, including submittal reviews and punch lists.
• Interact closely with architects and structural engineers through all project phases.
• Work in MEP software to develop construction documents and incorporate design changes.
• Perform building conditions evaluations and prepare reports.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• NYS P.E. license is required
• 3-5 years’ experience in designing on either Plumbing, or Fire Protection systems.
• Ability to work individually or in a multi-discipline team.
• MEP software experience is a plus; training will be provided.
