Overview
On Line Design is currently looking for a part-time packaging engineer for 30-35hrs per week to work on-site in New York, NY. In this role, you will support the design, development, and commercialization of bottles and labels for cosmetic and personal care products. This role will work with product development, marketing, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure packaging solutions are functional, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with branding standards.
This role will focus primarily on bottles and labels. You will need 4-6+ years of experience with packaging and label design across cosmetics, CPG, or personal care industries.
- Support the design and development of primary packaging and labeling components
- Translate brand and marketing concepts into manufacturable packaging solutions
- Support label layout to ensure technical feasibility, print readiness, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct package testing and validation to evaluate compatibility, stability, and transit testing
- Maintain packaging specifications and change control documentation
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 3-6+ years of packaging development experience in cosmetics, personal care, or CPG
- Working knowledge of label materials, print processes, and decoration techniques
- Understanding of cosmetic and regulatory label requirements
- Proficiency in technical drawings and packaging solutions (experience with CAD is a plus)
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and global suppliers
