The VDC Engineer supports local use of BIM and Virtual Design and Construction. The primary duties of the role are to support multiple on‑site construction team efforts to implement BIM/VDC to support operational efficiency. In addition, the role will support projects in model‑based trade coordination, support project execution planning related to BIM/VDC and support BIM adoption within project teams. A successful candidate will bring a can‑do attitude to the role and have the flexibility to respond to opportunities.
Responsibilities- Support local use of BIM and Virtual Design and Construction.
- Assist multiple on‑site construction teams in implementing BIM/VDC to improve operational efficiency.
- Support projects in model‑based trade coordination.
- Assist in project execution planning related to BIM/VDC.
- Promote BIM adoption within project teams.
- 3+ years of experience working in a BIM or VDC‑related role.
- 1+ years working in the process of asset tracking.
- 1+ year working in Autodesk packages (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM
360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.) and other platforms such as Procore. - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 3 years prior relevant experience.
Qualified candidates, excluding current Skanska employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Skanska does not anticipate providing employment‑related work sponsorship for this position (e.g. H‑1B status).
