Why candidates should join:The client shifts robotics development from hardware-in-the-loop to pure software simulation — they're enabling test-driven development for autonomy systems. They work with Fortune 500 companies and Magnificent Seven tech giants to make deploying autonomous systems safer and faster.
This is a foundational Simulation Engineer role where you'll own customer system onboarding end-to-end and build high-fidelity sensor models. $180-300k base with competitive equity, full relocation assistance, and sponsorship available for the right candidate.
Required:- 2 - 8 years of experience in robotics or hardware simulation (academic or professional)
- Experience with Nvidia Isaac Sim/Lab required:
Primary simulator in use; other simulators (Mujoco, Gazebo) acceptable as ramp- up path - Depth over breadth:
Must demonstrate deep ownership of at least one sensor/system simulation end- to- end - Bachelor's in Mechanical, Robotics, Electrical, or Mechatronics (or similar); high 3. 7–4. 0 GPA preferred
- Personable and strong communicator
- Hands- on simulation experience:
Must have end- to- end experience building and calibrating hardware simulations (sensors, cameras, lidars, radars, etc. ) - Strong Python skills for data analysis, testing, automation, and tooling
- Experience with non- visible sensing systems (infrared/thermal, UV, radar, lidar)
- Master's or PhD preferred, but can be substituted for strong professional experience
- Experience programming in Rust and/or C++
We are looking for a Simulation Engineer to join our founding team. We are seeking a high-agency builder who is excited by the 0 to 1 grind of an early-stage, intense startup environment. This person will take ambiguous, real-world systems and turn them into validated simulations that customers can trust. This role is critical to our growth as it will directly enable us to onboard new customers and expand our platform's capabilities.
Whatwill you be doing?
- Own the end-to-end process of onboarding customer systems, translating their physical robots, sensors, and environments into our simulation platform.
- Build and calibrate high-fidelity simulation models for various sensing modalities like cameras, lidar, and radar, from first principles.
- Work hands-on and on-site with customers to tune and calibrate simulations, taking them from 80% to near 100% accuracy.
- Define and execute test plans to quantitatively validate simulation fidelity against real-world data.
- Build internal tooling and automation in Python to make calibration, testing, and onboarding repeatable and scalable.
