Location: New York

We are partnering with a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm seeking a Senior Project Manager or Senior‑Level Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in the New York metro area.

This is a senior‑facing role with a strong mix of technical leadership, project management, and client interaction, supporting complex land development, infrastructure, and construction projects. The position offers exposure to high‑profile work, collaboration with experienced technical leaders, and a clear path for continued career growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geotechnical projects from proposal through delivery, including scope, budget, and schedule control
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports, specifications, construction plans, and recommendations
  • Design foundations, retaining walls, excavation support systems, and other geotechnical elements
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project staff
  • Support excavation design and advanced analyses (e.g., finite element modeling)
  • Coordinate and oversee subsurface investigations and construction observations
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and budget expectations
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Strong background in geotechnical investigations, reporting, and construction inspection
  • Hands‑on experience with earthwork, pile foundations (driven/drilled), load testing, retaining walls, ground improvement, and excavation support systems
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software such as gINT, PLAXIS, LPILE, SLIDE/SLOPE‑W, GRLWEAP, MSEW, and SHAKE (or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead projects independently while collaborating within a team environment
  • Willingness to perform occasional field work and attend client or job site meetings
