The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time Environmental Scientist based in the New York City metropolitan area.
Position SummaryThe chosen candidate will support our existing project portfolio related to asbestos investigation, mold assessment/remediation and lead-based paint inspection and abatement support.
Essential Job Functions- Coordinating daily workload with your supervisor;
- Traveling to sites through the five boroughs of New York City;
- Performing hazardous material investigation/inspection in accordance federal, state and local regulations;
- Reporting on field activities through use of iPad/iPhone enable apps;
- Interfacing with the public (apartment tenants) during field activities;
- Interfacing with client liaisons during field operations; and
- Managing/overseeing staff support field work.

Required Qualifications- Bachelors or Masters of Science or Engineering, or related scientific field required
- 5+ years demonstrated success serving as an NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator
- Current asbestos, mold and lead licensures (in New York/New York City)
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, client management, and business development skills. They also must have strong communication skills and act with a high degree of responsiveness.
The role requires a strong focus on customer service, upholding high standards of integrity and work ethics while interacting with building occupants.
Must be reliable and punctual in completing assigned tasks and carrying out daily responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications- M.S. degree preferred
Must be able to carry up to 25 pounds of equipment in a field environment.
Work Environment / Environmental FactorsWorking in the field, as well as non-climate controlled buildings, is a requirement of this position.
Additional Information- Schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM EDT Monday

The Salary Range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
