Director, Engineering

Description

The Director, Engineering oversees and directs the day-to-day operations of the Engineering / Plant Operations, including facilities management, construction projects, equipment maintenance and upgrades. Ensures the operational reliability of the utility systems of the Hospital and its off-site locations. Ensures compliance with all Hospital, local, state, federal and regulatory agencies requirements related to facilities management and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a minimum of seven to tenyears of experience, or five to seven years of experience in the hospital setting.

• OR

• High school graduate with ten (10) years hospital engineering experience, at least five (5) of which were in a supervisory position, with a license in a related trade;

• OR

• High school graduate with twelve to fifteen years of experience in multiple trades related to hospital engineering, being licensed in one of these trades

• Knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local regulations in associated field.

• Knowledge and understanding of all JCAHO Environment of Care Standards.

• Basic knowledge of Engineering and Engineering principles to ensure proper work product from staff and contracted service / construction vendors.

• Excellent interpersonal, time management and supervisory skills.

• Proven ability to supervise staff, contract service and construction vendor activities.
