CAD Tech II​/III- Structural Engineering

Ancora Engineering is a New York City–based engineering firm providing high-quality design and technical services for construction projects across the NYC area. We work closely with architects, contractors, and owners to deliver clear, buildable engineering plans.

Ancora Engineering is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to support the drafting and production of engineering drawings for active construction projects. This role focuses on preparing and revising technical plans based on engineer direction and project requirements.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on CAD experience in the construction industry
, understands how drawings are used in the field, and can work efficiently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

• Prepare, update, and revise CAD drawings for engineering plans
• Produce construction‑ready drawings from sketches, redlines, and markups
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards
• Maintain organized drawing files and version control
• Incorporate field conditions, as‑built information, and contractor feedback into drawings
• Assist with permit, bid, and construction drawing sets
• Follow company CAD standards and NYC construction requirements

• Proven experience as a CAD Technician or Draftsperson in the construction or engineering industry
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
• Familiarity with construction documents, plan sets, and industry terminology
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Experience working with engineering firms (structural or civil)
• Knowledge of NYC construction practices, codes, or permitting processes
• Experience with redlines and coordination across disciplines
• Associate’s degree or technical training in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field
