Job Description
This role is specifically within the SLS division of SOCOTEC. SLS/SOCOTEC is seeking dependable and proactive applicants focused on continuous improvement to join our team. Senior Associates will work on our accomplished team to design and develop Life Safety and Fire Protection systems that integrate seamlessly with other building systems to achieve a safe and code compliant building design. Projects will focus on adherence to quality standards through plan reviews and technical reports.

Projects will have components of but will not be limited to the following: egress design, code research, smoke control system design, fire-resistant construction analysis, performance-based design, fire sprinkler design, and hazardous material analysis.

• Independently manage projects with supporting staff
• Manage assigned tasks
• Effectively manage project budget throughout all phases of the project
• Develop project scope and pricing for proposal preparation
• Prepare monthly invoicing and assist in AR follow up
• Mentor and train Associates supporting project work
• Perform tasks associated with project deliverables, including but not limited to the following: writing code reports outlining the compliance approach for the project; perform code reviews of project plans for compliance with applicable codes; perform on-site inspections; conduct performance-based designs; conduct hazardous material/laboratory analyses; conduct special inspections of smoke control, fire stopping, and fireproofing; etc.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the engineering or architecture disciplines required
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection and Life Safety
• Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification and/or Professional Engineer’s License (P.E.) preferred
• Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Suite encouraged
• Experience with CONTAM, Pyrosim, FDS, and/or Path Finder desirable
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong written communication skills

Additional Information
SOCOTEC offers generous compensation packages including salary, benefits & bonus based upon relevant experience. All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, location, and other relevant metrics. SOCOTEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
