Asbestos Field Project Monitors / Air Sampling Technicians
Omega Environmental Services, Inc. was founded in 1989 when the key personnel of a "Fortune‑500" company’s environmental engineering division founded their own company. The culture of the new organization is based on providing superior customer service, rapid response, and "turn‑key" environmental health & safety services. Our company policy is to earn our client’s trust and respect by providing exceptional client service and consistently high-quality work.
We have worked with Fortune‑500 companies, health care institutions, and insurance companies on their environmental health & safety projects. In addition to asbestos and lead programs, we specialize in OSHA compliance programs, health and safety programs, indoor air quality assessments, and Phase I and II environmental site assessments. We also lead in microbial consulting, remediation design & oversight, and assist hospitals with Joint Commission inspections.
At Omega, we balance cost minimization with limiting environmental exposure in our project designs. Since opening, our growth rate has been nearly 20% per year and over 80% of our work comes from referrals and repeat business.
We currently have open asbestos and other field positions for qualified individuals with good communication skills and reliability. Candidates may have asbestos industry experience/certification or be entry‑level individuals looking to make a career change and/or jumpstart a new career pathway in environmental health and safety.
Responsibilities- After orientation, training, and equipment assignment is complete, project field assignment set‑up sheets are emailed out to asbestos field staff based upon their availability (days/nights/weekends).
- For larger projects greater than 5 shifts, a Project Manager will coordinate an on‑site kick‑off meeting to discuss job‑specific requirements. A field tech can call the Project Manager and/or Training Coordinator at any time if they have questions or concerns.
- Travel to NY and/or NJ sites with air sampling equipment and required field documentation (punctuality is important because clients/contractors are waiting for us to start abatement projects).
- Set up asbestos air samples at/around abatement work areas according to published regulations; samples typically run 6–8 hours while the field tech remains on‑site to observe and draft a sketch.
- After the monitoring shift, package/ship air sample cassettes to the assigned laboratory and return to the office if there are equipment needs.
- Post air results on‑site following the shift.
Qualified candidates must have good communication, computer, and writing skills, and be able to travel to/from project sites in New Jersey and New York.
