Electrical Inspector Engineer

Job Overview

HSE Contractors is seeking skilled Electrical Inspector Engineers in New York for flexible staffing needs. We are hiring for full-time, part-time, and freelance/contract roles to support ongoing construction projects. The ideal candidate will perform field inspections, ensure code compliance, and maintain high-quality standards across all electrical installations.

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical installations, equipment, and materials.
• Verify compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and New York local codes.
• Inspect conduits, wiring systems, panels, switch gear, lighting, grounding, and distribution systems.
• Review contractor workmanship and identify deficiencies.
• Validate electrical test results (megger, continuity, grounding, etc.).
• Maintain accurate daily logs, inspection reports, and punch lists.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
• Support commissioning and energization activities.
• Uphold site safety standards and OSHA compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering OR equivalent field experience.
• 3–10+ years of electrical inspection or field engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and New York City Electrical Code.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Experience working on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or public projects.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Preferred certifications:
  PE, EIT, NICET, OSHA 30
