Position Title:
Structural Project Engineer (Licensed PE - New York)
A well-established, multidisciplinary design and engineering firm is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join its structural engineering team in New York City
. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer who is looking to grow professionally while contributing to a wide range of building and infrastructure projects.
This position offers a blend of hands‑on structural design work and opportunities for project coordination and leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in engineering principles, a collaborative mindset, and a desire to take on increasing responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities Technical Duties- Perform structural analysis and design for various materials including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design documentation.
- Develop construction drawings, details, and other deliverables.
- Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and evaluate shop drawings.
- Conduct site visits for construction observation and field verification.
- Carry out structural assessments and design solutions for repairs, retrofits, and forensic investigations.
- Participate in quality control reviews and peer checks.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions.
- Assist in defining project scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Attend client meetings and support technical presentations.
- Help manage internal resources and mentor junior staff.
- Contribute to proposal development and project estimates.
- Monitor project progress and help identify and mitigate risks.
- Licensed PE in New York State (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 4-10+ years of experience in structural engineering within a consulting or design environment
- Proficiency in structural analysis software
- Experience with Revit or similar BIM tools is highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
