Protection & Controls/Electrical Project Engineer
NSB omega is searching for a – Protection & Controls/Electrical Project Engineer for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John's, NL.
Assignment DescriptionKey Responsibilities
- · Providetechnicalsupporttothe Project Manageronvarious projects;
- · Reviewtenderpackagespreparedbyotherconsultantsand contractors;
- · Reviewshopdrawingspreparedbycontractorsand vendors;
- · Preparerequestsforproposals (RFPs);
- · Providetechnicalinputasadesignteammemberforprojectsandothertechnical documentation;
- · Directandsuperviseconsultantsandcontractorsduringthecompletionofspecific engagements;
- · Reviewandapprovereportspreparedby consultants;
- · Conductregularsitevisitstomonitorconstructionactivities,verifyprojectprogress,and provide support to site teams;
- · Facilitateeffectivecommunicationacross stakeholders;
- · Reviewandapprovetechnicaldocumentation,including commissioning;
- · Assistwithprojectcloseoutactivities,ensuringsmoothtransitionofcompletedassetsto operations;
- · Promotecontinualimprovementthroughlessonslearned,innovative approaches,and sharing best practices with other project teams;
- · Submittimesheetsanddocumentationinaccordancewith
NLHydro’sproject management requirements; - · Otherdutiesas assigned.
- · Electrical Engineering Degree ,registeredwiththe
Professional
Engineer sand Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association; - · 8yearsormoreexperiencesince graduation;
- · Experienceintheconfigurationandprogrammingof
PLCsand DCS; - · Experienceinsupervisingequipmentinstallationand commissioning;
- · Relevantexperienceincomplex,multi-discipline projects;
- · Provenanddemonstratedcommunication skills;
- · Abilitytothriveasaparticipantand/orleaderwithinamulti-disciplineteamofbothinternal and external resources;
- · Relevantexperienceinthedesign,implementationandtroubleshootingofprotectionand or control systems in general with emphasis on hydro generation plants or electrical transmission systems or equivalent;
- · Experienceindesign,managingconstructioncontractsand commissioning;
- · Experienceinpreparingproject estimates;
