Project Delivery Lead – Transportation – (190231)

At HDR, employee‑owners shape the future of transportation by designing resilient infrastructure and advancing multimodal mobility. As part of our Transportation Business Group in NY/NJ, you will help deliver projects that improve safety, sustainability, and community connectivity.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive the area transportation team to deliver successful projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Serve as a senior project manager, coordinating program activities with area leadership.
  • Develop and implement business‑group controls and reporting procedures for project delivery.
  • Mentor and train staff in project‑management best practices.
  • Monitor and mitigate project loss and claims.
  • Coordinate with quality, commercial, production, and BIM managers for project success.
  • Oversee work‑share reporting and workload coordination with the Business Group Manager.
  • Streamline area‑level project‑management processes and remove execution barriers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
  • PE license required.
  • 15+ years of project‑management experience in engineering.
  • Experience with an A/E/C firm preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience managing staff, clients, and contracts for an engineering team.
  • Preference for local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Professional registration, license or certification as required.
  • Strong communication, listening, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and organizational tasks.
  • Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
