The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is looking for a part‑time Asbestos Investigator based in the New York City metropolitan area.
Position SummaryThe chosen candidate will support our existing project portfolio related to asbestos investigation and abatement support.
Chosen candidate must possess an active NYC Department of Environmental Protection Asbestos Investigator license.
Essential Job FunctionsThe following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
- Overseeing and performing asbestos investigations;
- Facilitating and reporting on asbestos investigations;
- Making filings through the New York City Department of Environmental Protection Absestos Reporting and Tracking System.

Required QualificationsChosen candidate must possess an active NYC Department of Environmental Protection Asbestos Investigator license.
10+ years of demonstrated success serving as an New York City Department of Environmental Protection Asbestos Investigator.
Possess strong leadership, client management, and business development skills.
Possess strong communication skills.
Must be customer‑service focused.
Preferred QualificationsBachelors or Masters of Science or Engineering, or related scientific field required, M.S. is preferred.
Physical Requirements- Ability to work at a computer screen for extended periods.
- Ability to walk around project sites in all types of terrains.
This is a part‑time, hourly position.
The position offers a flexible work schedule regarding in‑office/work‑at‑home potential; occasional on‑site meetings at client locations or job sites will be required.

Tetra Tech offers a basic core medical plan and our 401k retirement plan for this position.
The Pay Range for this position is $60 samlet - 70.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
