Title: Mechanical Engineer | HVAC Design Project Manager

Employer: Established MEP engineering firm operating nationwide and internationally. New York based office near Brooklyn Bridge.

Job Description: Excellent position for an HVAC Design Engineer / Project Manager with 5+ years of experience. Focus on reviewing designs, managing projects on site; no design work (no AutoCAD or Revit). 50% time from downtown Manhattan office, 25% site visits, 25% WFH.

• Plans, coordinates, and oversees mechanical-related design activities throughout all phases of pre‑construction.
• Manages engineering designs to ensure their design and quality are code‑compliant, meet client requirements, budget, and schedule.
• Communicates with clients on a regular basis.
• Applies applicable codes and standards to all MEP systems for all projects.
• Conducts site surveys for existing conditions and construction progress.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Systems.
• Strong understanding of NEC, local, state, and international building codes.
• AutoCAD proficiency (to check drawings). Drafting is performed outside the US.
• Experience with HVAC systems in large multi‑family and commercial buildings.
• Must be able to perform local field visits in the NYC area.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is a plus.
• Experience with the NYC Department of Buildings.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required (BSME preferred).

Location: Manhattan, NY (downtown office near Brooklyn Bridge) with 25% remote.

Base pay range: $115,000 – $125,000 per year.
