Standard Carbon designs and manufactures the Carbon Bridge™, a modular, containerized carbon‑to‑fuel platform that converts on‑site CO₂ emissions into pipeline‑grade renewable natural gas (RNG). The system integrates carbon capture, electrolysis, methanation, and thermal recovery into deployable skids engineered for dense urban and industrial environments.

Standard Carbon is scaling manufacturing in New York City to support rapid deployment of climate‑critical infrastructure.

Role Summary

The Manufacturing Manager owns day‑to‑day manufacturing execution for Carbon Bridge™ systems in NYC. This role is accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and readiness across fabrication, assembly, integration, factory testing, and shipment. You will lead technicians and subcontractors, translate engineering intent into build reality, manage suppliers, enforce NYC and OSHA safety compliance, and ensure every Carbon Bridge™ module ships on time, to spec, and safe to operate.

This is a hands‑on leadership role—equal parts floor presence, technical judgment, and operational discipline.

Core Responsibilities
  • Own production planning, scheduling, and execution for Carbon Bridge™ module builds
  • Translate drawings, BOMs, and release packages into detailed build plans and work instructions
  • Sequence fabrication, sub‑assemblies, and integration to meet aggressive delivery timelines
  • Maintain real‑time visibility into schedule risk, labor loading, and material constraints
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
  • Lead, train, and supervise manufacturing technicians and subcontract crews
  • Establish clear expectations for quality, safety, and productivity
  • Build a safety‑first, accountability‑driven shop culture
  • Ensure all personnel meet NYC Site Safety Training / Local Law 196 requirements
Safety, EHS & Regulatory Compliance
  • Enforce OSHA General Industry standards for:
  • Welding and cutting (hot work controls, fire watch, guarding)
  • Lockout/tagout (control of hazardous energy)
  • Pressurized systems and stored energy
  • Ensure compliance with NYC Fire Code requirements for compressed natural gas and other flammable gases (certificate‑of‑fitness oversight, cylinder storage controls)
  • Lead incident prevention, near‑miss reviews, and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain required safety documentation, permits, and training records
Quality Assurance & Build Integrity
  • Implement in‑process inspections including:
  • Mechanical fit‑up
  • Weld visual inspection
  • Pressure and leak testing
  • Electrical continuity and I/O checks
  • Maintain full build traceability and as‑built documentation
  • Drive first‑pass yield and minimize rework through disciplined QA practices
Technical & CAD Oversight
  • Interpret and review Solid Works models, fabrication drawings, and redlines
  • Coordinate manufacturing change requests and feedback loops with engineering
  • Ensure design‑to‑build fidelity across capture, electrolysis, methanation, piping, and enclosure subsystems
Supplier & Subcontractor Management
  • Qualify and manage fabrication, machining, electrical, and specialty vendors
  • Track supplier lead times, delivery performance, and quality
  • Conduct incoming inspections and proactively mitigate material or schedule risk
Factory Testing & Deployment Readiness
  • Lead or support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), including:
  • Mechanical integrity
  • Controls and instrumentation checkout
  • Functional gas handling verification
  • Ensure modules ship with complete documentation, spares, and commissioning kits
  • Coordinate with deployment teams to support site readiness and installation feedback
Continuous Improvement
  • Apply lean and continuous improvement methods to:
  • Reduce rework and cycle time
  • Improve takt for welding, piping, and panel build
  • Standardize work across repeatable modules
  • Implement 5S, visual management, and production metrics suitable for a scale‑up environment
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years experience in manufacturing or industrial fabrication environments
  • Proven leadership of multi‑trade teams (mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation)
  • Deep hands‑on knowledge of welding, piping, mechanical assembly, and pressure systems
  • Demonstrated application of OSHA hot work and lockout/tagout standards
  • Experience managing NYC Site Safety…
