Software Engineer, Systems Engineer
This is a full-time role to be a Founding Tech Lead & Manager, located onsite in New York, NY.
About youYou will work directly with the founding team to design and build the future of the financial system from the ground floor. We pride ourselves on our “hands off culture” by having very few meetings and giving engineers and creators a broad scope of responsibility and autonomy. You’ll be working in-person 5 days/week in our lower-manhattan NYC office, building side-by-side with the rest of the team.
As a manager and lead joining Hadrius, you’ll be defining what effective management looks like - not just for engineering, but across the entire company. In this role, you’ll be effectively running the engineer organization:
- Sales, CS, Account Managers and product will all look to you to make their goals possible
- New engineers on the team will rely on your to ramp them up and get them up to speed
- All engineers will rely on you to champion their accomplishments and the impact of their work
- The founding team will count on you to retain, grow and lead the engineer team to build an excellent product
First week:
- Day 1: push your first PR to production
- Understand the core problems Hadrius solves, our ICP, our value proposition, the Hadrius platform, pricing structure, and roadmap
- Learn the Hadrius way: how we work and build for high growth
- Get up to speed on the codebase, our architecture, product roadmap and biggest challenges
- Contribute to product discussions in weekly all hands
First month:
- Implement a feature that directly leads to new revenue for the business
- Helping others through code-review and technical design reviews
- Have a good sense of each engineers strengths and where they want to grow
- You’re running a handful of technical interviews
- Stakeholders outside engineering are coming to you with their needs
First 3 months & beyond:
- 3-6 engineers are reporting directly to you
- You’re training and hiring new team members as you scale your impact across the team
- Stakeholders outside engineers rely on you to meet their goals
- 6+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
- Recently worked at a startup in a technical role
- Organized and clear communicator with a penchant for solving problems
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience working with mature React and Python codebases in production
