Manufacturing Engineer

About the job

Plans, coordinates and directs the manufacturing process as it relates to producing product on a Davenport multi-spindle screw machine.

Training is provided to further the knowledge of manufacturing engineering specific to company policies and standards as well as other areas of the business.

• Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
• Conducts engineering activities within the department including design and drawing part prints, process layouts, tooling and gauges.
• Confers with engineering personnel to provide cycle time estimates and process design for new quoting opportunities.
• Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Confers with engineering and production teams to solve performance/operational issues to improve operational efficiency.
• Ability to read and translate customer blueprints including raw materials, secondary processes and geometric tolerancing is required.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Cadkey, Autocad, Key Creator, Solid Works) is required.
• Develops corrective actions to findings from internal and external quality audits.
• Experience with internal audits and familiarity with quality standards including IATF , ISO  and AS9100D is required.

Minimum Experience:

5 years related manufacturing engineering experience.

• Ability to work collaboratively to solve problems relative to area of responsibility.
