Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic and highly motivated Design Manager with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture and professional engineer license or architect registration, and 15 years of experience, at least 6 of which in a Project Manager/Design Manager role. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary design/engineering and design management team that supports unique, complex, and challenging infrastructure projects for Kiewit.

KIE is a multi-faceted and cutting-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on alternative delivery infrastructure projects (e.g., design-build, progressive design-build, alliance, P3).

Through Kiewit’s fully integrated design and construction approach, KIE’s multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk on projects. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. This position is based out of our Manhattan, NY or Woodcliff Lake, NJ office, and requires some amount of travel based on project needs.

• Manage and lead large, diverse, multidisciplinary project teams during the pursuit and final design of projects.
• Serve as the overall leader to the design team and providing oversight to support groups.
• Develop staffing plans and challenging but achievable design budgets and schedules, set expectations, and execute according to plan.
• Identify and communicate project risks / opportunities and prepare and execute mitigation plans.
• Review and manage upstream and downstream engineering contracts.
