PositionSummary
We are seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join the expanding Transportation group. Responsibilities include working on public sector infrastructure projects in the NY/NJ area—bridge, roadway, and aviation projects—managing lower-level engineers, and preparing and reviewing design documents for signs, pavement markings, traffic signals, traffic barriers, MPT design, ITS design, roadway alignments, grading, utilities, etc. The role is based in Elmwood Park, NJ.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and/or review design plans, estimates, technical specifications, details, and other project‐related documents (guide signs, traffic control signs, pavement markings, traffic signals, barriers, MPT, ITS, alignments, grading, utilities).
- Design and review construction documents to ensure effective and safe traffic operations, including evaluation of complex construction phasing plans.
- Develop conceptual documents and provide design recommendations.
- Provide guidance to lower‑level engineers and oversee performance.
- Coordinate with staff from civil, structural, operations, and other disciplines to resolve design issues.
- Leverage opportunities to work on diverse projects and develop Transportation Planning skills.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Subject matter expertise in signing design and pavement marking design.
- Knowledge of FHWA MUTCD, AASHTO, State DOT, and NY/NJ local standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro Station, Guide
SIGN, AutoTURN, and Gerber Omega. - Strong technical writing and report documentation skills.
- Uncompromising integrity.

- Strong time management and organizational skills.
