About the PositionBrown and Caldwell is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team.
This full‑time position will contribute to project delivery and client service teams in winning and executing innovative planning, evaluation, design, permitting, and construction support services for a variety of Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources projects. Example projects include studies, design and construction of wastewater treatment plants, drinking water plant designs, biosolids and residuals processing and disposal, pumping stations, pipelines, stormwater management, MS4 compliance, and integrated water resources projects for municipal clients.
We are looking for a Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineer with a PE license who will partner with leaders in our Northeast Area to advance our growth strategy while providing project oversight and engineering mentorship as it pertains to water, wastewater, stormwater conveyance or related water engineering work.
Candidates must live in New England but may work remotely. Travel is required (~25% of the time) to client sites within the New England region.
Duties and Responsibilities- Project team leadership expectations
- Set direction – support defining objectives, decision‑making processes, schedules, budgets, and success factors. Assist the team in providing clarity on assignment objectives and client critical success factors.
- Communicate – help establish effective communication methods for team stand‑ups, technical/design decisions, and client interactions.

- Scope – collaborate on detailed scopes of work to set clear expectations and prevent overruns.
- Schedule – develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely resource allocation; recommend mitigation measures.
- Budget – develop work breakdown structures and project budgets aligned with scope and schedule.
- Quality Management – create and monitor quality management plans to enhance client trust and minimize deficiencies.
- Change Management – identify and manage internal and external changes, preparing scope and budget adjustments with client approval.
- Risk Management – identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Delivery of Project and Business Performance Metrics – support achievement of goals related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality; monitor profitability through earned value analysis and timely invoicing.
- Client Service and Sales/Marketing Support – build successful relationships with clients, collaborate with client service managers, and monitor client satisfaction.
- BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering or Science field.
- Prior experience providing construction support services for a variety of water‑related engineering projects: advanced water/wastewater treatment plants, biosolids, pumping stations, pipeline conveyance, and integrated water resources projects for municipal clients.
- 12+ years of experience in Project Management
:- Competency in development and monitoring of simple project schedules.
- Competency in development and monitoring of simple project budgets.
- Ability to demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills through previous experience.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Proficiency in schedule development and management using MS Project.
