Construction Manager​/Resident Engineer

Our New York City office has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Manager / Resident Engineer with experience in construction of complex water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities. Candidate will work closely with the other members of the project team, including the Owner, multiple contractors, design engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide oversight and on-site Resident Engineering to guide a team of CM professionals on delivery of third-party construction management services for major water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate amongst client, contractor(s), design engineers, and third-party stakeholders in addressing priority issues to successfully progress construction projects to completion.
• Support the growth of Construction Management services in the New York City metropolitan region through development of best practices and identification of potential key project pursuits.
• Lead development of construction management pursuits and proposals, guiding pursuit team on vision, approach, teaming, staffing, and pricing.
• Collaborate with a local project delivery team and national team of technical experts, including Quality Managers, Project Controls Professionals, Safety Professionals, Technical Leads, and Inspection staff.
• Oversee and manage construction projects from conception to completion to meet contractual conditions of performance including budgets, schedule, safety and quality.
• Mentor, supervise and provide direction for less experienced staff.
• Review design and bidding documents for completeness, constructability and biddability.
• Perform as a practitioner, as required, construction administration; schedule analyses; change order development, negotiation, and processing; lead and/or assist startup and commissioning efforts.
• Ensure compliance for all construction management team members with company and client health and safety training requirements.
• Generate project correspondence, including responses to Contractor correspondence, in a timely manner to avoid delay, to convey Owner’s position, and to protect the Owner’s interests.
• Review construction work progress daily. Provide daily site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, standards, codes, and permits.

• BS degree, Master’s degree preferable, in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• PE in New York or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through CMAA preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the design and construction administration of municipal infrastructure, water, and wastewater facilities.
• Thorough working knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, process and building mechanical and electrical construction and demolition practices involved with major public works projects.
