Position Overview

The role is located in our New York, NY office within the Buildings division, focusing on transportation projects, especially metro transit.
Key Responsibilities- Work with and coordinate a multidisciplinary architectural/engineering team to design and deliver transportation projects.
- Lead and serve as the interface and coordinator among various disciplines, clients, and consultants.
- Manage architectural staff and oversee multidisciplinary efforts to align with project/client needs.
- Set technical direction to elevate the quality of deliverables.
- Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the transportation sector (state-of-good-repair programs, ADA accessibility projects, or rail transportation projects).
- Transit Architecture design experience, including station and related facilities, is required.
- Registered Licensed Architect in the State of New York is required; LEED Accreditation or similar is a plus.
- Experience in Design‑Build delivery method near active rail operations is required.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency with Open Buildings is strongly valued.
- Excellent design, technical detailing, and presentation skills, both verbal and visual.
- Self‑starter with a passion for problem‑solving and a firm focus on client needs.
- Travel within the US and work at a project office within the NYC area.
- Determine technical approach and design criteria collaboratively with multiple disciplines.
- Contribute to or lead responses to RFPs and RFQs, including fees, schedule, staffing, and project approach.
- Lead and mentor junior architectural staff.
- Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
- Develop design details, plans, and specifications.
- Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Serve as quality control reviewer.
- Use computer software as a design tool for solving complex architectural problems.
- Contribute new designs or techniques of material significance.
- Remain current with codes and technologies (IBC, NFPA, etc.).
- Ensure conformance with standards, established practice, applicable codes, and technical adequacy.
