The Civil Design Lead will oversee the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering components for complex infrastructure and site development projects. This role combines technical leadership, design management, and collaboration with construction managers, project engineers, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer who excels at leading teams, coordinating design workflows, and ensuring high‑quality, constructible engineering solutions.

• Lead and manage civil design tasks on transportation, site development, utility, and infrastructure projects.
• Develop design criteria, technical calculations, and engineering reports.
• Oversee the preparation of civil drawings, specifications, and permitting packages.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including structural, electrical, mechanical and construction management specialists.
• Ensure design compliance with local, state, federal, and industry standards.
• Conduct constructability reviews and support cost estimating and scheduling efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee quality control/quality assurance processes.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and permitting agencies.
• Support proposal development and technical input for new pursuits.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license for New York or New Jersey
• Proficiency in civil design software (e.g., Civil 3D, Micro Station/Open Roads, Hydro
  
  CAD, Storm
  
  CAD).
• Demonstrated experience leading design teams and managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and constructability.

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in construction management environments.
• Familiarity with public agency design standards (DOT, municipal, federal).
• Experience with BIM/CAD coordination and digital delivery.
