In the role of Electrical Construction Inspector we will count on you to:
- Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
- Conduct inspection of electrical, controls, high/low voltage systems, fiber, etc. at transportation facilities such as airports, tunnels, bridges, terminals, transit, ports, and other infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with other field representatives or project managers
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and acceptance of specialized electrical systems
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or NICET Level II certification, or a comparable combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in construction inspection of electrical power and communications work on major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies such as PANYNJ, MTA, NJ Transit, NJTA, NJDOT
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- OSHA 30‑hour training
- PE license in New York or New Jersey
- Preference given to local candidates
- High school diploma or equivalent (candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a diploma)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical construction inspection
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Proven problem‑solving and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
