Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga, NY Mill is located on the shores of Lake Champlain. In operation since 1971, the mill produces high end printing and technical papers harvested from Adirondack and Vermont forests. We employ over 600 dedicated employees focused on safety, environment, quality and production.

• Utilize engineering skills to solve problems and create solutions to equipment downtime and operating costs, as well as engineering for equipment modifications and new equipment installations.
• Perform basic engineering, calculations, investigations and tasks assigned.
• Collaborate with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
• Prepare or assist in preparing reports, graphs, planning layouts and summaries designed to communicate project progress or results.
• Plan and execute process improvements.
• Troubleshoot process and/or equipment issues, involving equipment for power generation, electrical power distribution, equipment drives, PLCs, and distributed controls.
• Use various computer systems and tools to perform data analysis to make critical data-driven decisions.
• Investigate and implement energy and cost saving projects.
• Work closely with maintenance technicians, operators and other engineers.
• Give presentations to mill management about project recommendations.
• Develop training materials and train maintenance technicians on new skills.
• Coordinate shutdown of equipment and operations; and similar work.
• Learn and utilize Lean/Six Sigma tools to improve process and reduce costs.

• B.S. Degree in Engineering field is required, preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Paper Science, Occupational Health & Safety.
• Highly motivated, results-driven individual who can also perform well in a team setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
