- Assist the Project Manager in the successful management of commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects; gain skills to become a Project Manager.
- Assist Project Manager with construction effort to ensure work aligns with design specifications, budget, and schedule.
- Interface with client representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Review, select, and submit project documents (submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, subcontracts, operations and maintenance manuals) in accordance with the construction schedule; provide field support to complete the project expeditiously.
- Assist PM with extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
- Assist PM with equipment releases and tracking.
- Support construction project meeting attendance and documentation.
- Act as liaison between trades and other departments within the company.
- Distribute, follow up, and respond in writing to punch list items in a timely manner.
- Conduct on-site visits to gain field experience on productivity, material and equipment use, and contractual performance.
- Gain industry knowledge to provide technical assistance (engineering, interpretation of drawings, construction methods and equipment).
- Participate in weekly staff and project management meetings.
- Perform additional tasks per PM and Regional Manager’s direction to support branch and company operations.
- Recent graduate or about to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Training and mentorship provided to develop necessary skills.
- Strong interest in construction and/or engineering office-related tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in project engineering.
- Willingness to travel to project sites if required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; manual material handling in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies.
