Application Engineer

• Title: Application Engineer – Metrology (Precision Optics & Automation)
• Reports to: Head of Engineering
• Department: Engineering / Technical Sales
• Focus: Customer-facing technical role across pre-sales and post-sales activities, maintaining a strong interface between sales, engineering, and end-users.

• Serve as the technical liaison between customers, sales, and engineering teams.
• Support the full product lifecycle
  —from technical demonstrations and configuration to installation, optimization, and customer success.
• Promote the integration of optical metrology with automated and precision manufacturing processes.

• Deliver technical expertise during customer consultations and sales discussions.
• Conduct customized product demonstrations and presentations
  .
• Translate customer requirements into detailed technical configurations and proposals
  .
• Oversee system installations, commissioning, and user training worldwide.
• Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting to ensure system performance and satisfaction.
• Capture customer insights and feedback for continuous product improvement.

• Develop and optimize measurement, metrology, and automation workflows
  .
• Conduct data analysis, performance validation, and technical reporting.
• Produce comprehensive documentation, reports, and best-practice guides
  .
• Work closely with R&D, product management, and engineering on solution development.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and technical demonstrations
  .

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics
  , or a related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in applications engineering, metrology, or precision optics.
• Strong hands-on familiarity with optical metrology systems
  , automation
  , and data-driven analysis
  .
• Proven understanding of precision manufacturing and system integration
  .
• Excellent communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic/international).
