PositionSummary
We are seeking a proactive, data-driven Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to lead and sustain EHS programs within our manufacturing and warehouse operations.
This role requires a minimum of five (5) years of hands on progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, and this is not an entry-level position. The EHS Specialist is expected to operate independently, anticipate risks, and take ownership without waiting for direction, while partnering closely with Operations leadership to reduce risk, ensure audit readiness, and strengthen safety culture.
Key Responsibilities Safety Culture & Leadership- Establish safety as a non-negotiable condition of work across all departments and shifts.
- Maintain a visible, daily presence on the production floor, proactively addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors in real time.
- Coach supervisors and managers on frontline safety leadership, accountability, and consistent enforcement.
- Promote employee engagement through near-miss reporting, safety committees, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Independently implement, maintain, and improve OSHA, EPA, and site-specific EHS programs.
- Translate regulatory and ISO requirements into practical, enforceable shop-floor controls.
- Maintain audit-ready EHS documentation, records, and procedures.
- Support and maintain EHS management systems aligned with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
- Lead routine safety and environmental inspections, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments.
- Own incident, injury, near-miss, and environmental investigations using root cause analysis methodologies.
- Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) closure and verify effectiveness.
- Participate in internal audits and serve as a key contact for regulatory, customer, and certification audits.
- Deliver and reinforce EHS training programs (new hire orientation, PPE, LOTO, machine safety, emergency response).
- Track EHS KPIs and trends; use data to prioritize risk reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HR to embed safety into daily work activities.
The successful candidate will:

- Balance compliance with operational practicality.
- Act as a trusted partner to Operations leadership.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience with OSHA compliance, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
- Professional safety certification preferred (ASP, CHST, CSP, or equivalent).
- Strong communication, documentation, and training skills.
- Ability to influence, enforce standards, and stop unsafe work when necessary.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
- Must be able to quickly traverse manufacturing areas.
- Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, stretch, lay and squat in order to maintain equipment.
- Must be able to occasionally withstand high temperatures if applicable.
