Overview
Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for our client, a highly regarded industrial manufacturing and material handling solutions company in Greene, New York
. This is a wonderful full-time, direct-hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.
- Monitor, coordinate, and oversee health and safety programs, including safety inspections, audits, accident investigations, and training initiatives.
- Promote a strong site safety culture by implementing procedures, metrics, campaigns, and programs designed to prevent injuries and illnesses, increase employee engagement, and reduce unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and occupational illnesses to identify root causes and implement effective preventive measures.
- Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and follow-up on all work-related incidents, including implementation of corrective actions.
- Evaluate machinery, equipment, and operational practices to identify hazards and manage associated risks.
- Develop, prepare, and deliver training on safety procedures, regulatory requirements, hazard monitoring, and proper use of safety equipment.
- Conduct facility inspections, including industrial hygiene assessments, and report findings to management with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety best practices into operational processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate emergency plans and participate in required drills to ensure preparedness across the organization.
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal occupational health and safety regulations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two years of relevant work experience or 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
- Professional HSS Certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH) preferred.
This rewarding position offers an annual salary range of $85,000-$105,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package including generous paid time off, affordable medical, dental, and vision coverage.
