Performing Arts Specialist POSITION DETAILS

Reporting to the Director of Lehman Stages, the Performing Arts Theatre Specialist oversees the technical requirements for the various performance spaces under Lehman Stages management. Responsible for the safe and reasonable utilization of the spaces following accepted professional practices. Responsible for the management of maintenance and repair of all technical equipment in The Lovinger Theatre, The Studio Theatre, The Student Experimental Theatre and The Dance Lab at Lehman.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the technical operations and safe use of all Lehman Stages-managed performance spaces (Lovinger Theatre, Studio Theatre, Student Experimental Theatre, Dance Lab).

  • Serve as technical supervisor for all Multimedia, Theatre, and Dance Program productions, ensuring professional standards are met.

  • Supervise the scenic shop and undergraduate student crew, maintaining production and rehearsal facilities and ensuring a safe working environment.

  • Construct all scenic elements for productions and oversee scenic shop procurement and budgeting.

  • Train and manage technical crew and staff, ensuring proficiency with technical systems and equipment.

  • Manage maintenance, repair, and inventory of all technical equipment, and evaluate and implement system upgrades.

  • Conduct safety inspections of internal and external equipment and scenery, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

  • Collaborate with College administration on facilities management and maintenance related to performance spaces.

  • Assist outside technical personnel and provide technical support for College events held in performance venues.

  • Provide accurate technical documentation and drafting, including CAD/Vector Works drawings for production planning and space management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
