Regent Christian Academy

Position Title:

High School Spanish Teacher

Job Status:
Part-Time (0.5 FTE)

Regent Christian Academy Society serves children and families across our campus schools, online school, and early learning programs. We focus on strong academics, whole‑child development, and a Christ‑centered environment where students grow in character and purpose. Our teams work hard, care deeply, and move fast to support a growing and dynamic school community.

As a central division of the Society, Regent Christian Academy (RCA) is our flagship campus‑based school, serving the community through our Sullivan and Cloverdale campuses in Surrey, BC. We bring the RCAS mission to life through a vibrant, in‑person learning community where students from Preschool through Grade 12 engage in rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and the fine arts. At RCA, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where classroom excellence and spiritual mentorship prepare students to lead and serve with integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Spanish that align with the B.C. New Curriculum, focusing on communication, acquisition, and cultural competency.
  • Model a vibrant Christian life and integrate faith‑based perspectives into language studies (e.g., exploring global missions, stewardship, and cultural diversity as God’s design).
  • Implement diverse assessment strategies (formative and summative) to support student growth and provide regular feedback via MyEdBC.
  • Participate in staff devotions, departmental meetings, and school‑wide spiritual retreats.
Requirements & Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who combines professional expertise with a heart for mentorship. If you have a heart for Christian education, we want to hear from you.

  • Certification:
Valid B.C. Professional Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one through the TRB).
  • Education:

A Bachelor of Education with a major or minor in Spanish or equivalent native‑level fluency.
  • Faith Commitment: A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ who is an active member of a local Christian church and signs our Statement of Faith.
  • Skills:

Strong classroom management, ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and proficiency in educational technology.

As a faith‑based educational institution, RCAS hires staff whose beliefs and conduct align with our Christian mission, values, and Statement of Faith. This role requires a genuine and reasonable occupational requirement (GOR) for the employee to affirm and support RCAS’s Christian beliefs and actively participate in a Christian church community. RCAS is committed to fair and equitable hiring practices within the scope of this requirement.

Qualified candidates who meet these criteria are encouraged to apply.
