UNIS seeks a part-time Advancement Consultant for Alumni Relations (10–12 hours per week, onsite) to help strengthen engagement and fundraising from our alumni to support the school’s advancement efforts. The successful candidate will provide support for and collaborate with a two-person advancement/alumni relations team to strengthen the fundraising efforts, managing projects that drive alumni giving and deepen alumni relationships. This position reports to the Director of the UNIS Fund and will work closely with the Alumni Relations Associate to ensure full preparation for meetings and engagements with UNIS donors and prospective supporters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of the UNIS Fund, Alumni Relations Associate, and the Director of Special Events, to advance alumni fundraising initiatives, including prospect and donor research, outreach, cultivation, and solicitation of financial support for the school’s activities.
  • Conduct personal outreach to UNIS alumni to build and sustain meaningful relationships, including email, phone, and meetings.
  • Draft appeals and solicitations directed at UNIS alumni.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni; experienced in annual giving campaigns, major gifts, and donor stewardship.
  • Demonstrated skill in fundraising strategies and managing donor pipelines.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities, with experience planning and executing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Experience engaging with diverse, international school communities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across a global community.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to managing multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with CRM and fundraising software (e.g., Veracross).
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 7+ years of fundraising experience, preferably working with an alumni fund or annual fund at independent or higher education school(s), or the equivalent combination of education, training, and transferable experience to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience is the most important qualification.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • This is a part-time consultant position (10–12 hours/week). It includes only legally required benefits for contractors, such as workers’ compensation and disability insurance.
  • Compensation range is $60-75 per hour, commensurate with experience
