Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Advisor of the Law School, the Dean’s Fellow works with the law school office and center to provide essential support for key initiatives and programs. The position involves conducting legal and interdisciplinary research, drafting advocacy materials and policy briefs, and assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of programs, events, and initiatives for students, alumni, and external stakeholders.

  • Conducts legal and interdisciplinary research on topics relevant to the law school’s centers, institutes, and programmatic initiatives.
  • Drafts advocacy materials, policy briefs, educational resources, and other content to support institutional goals and community engagement.
  • Assists with the planning, coordination, and execution of programs, events, and initiatives for students, alumni, and external stakeholders.
  • Supports student organizations, pro bono projects, and volunteer initiatives, including helping to launch new projects and expand existing programs.
  • Develops and maintains informational materials, handbooks, guides, brochures, and other publications for student and alumni audiences.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of legal support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access to justice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Experience working in a law school, legal services organization, nonprofit organization, or government agency.
  • Experience working with volunteers, student organizations, or community groups.
  • Demonstrated interest in public interest law, social justice, legal education, or related fields.
  • Writing skills adaptable to various formats, including marketing copy, educational materials, and academic publications.
  • Familiarity with law school programs, legal career pathways, or post-graduate fellowship opportunities.

Minimum Starting Salary $66,555

Maximum Starting Salary $80,000

Qualifications Note Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
