Part-time LCLJ (Religious School) Educator  Our Vision

Central Synagogue is one of the leading and largest Reform congregations in the country. Located in Midtown Manhattan, Central’s reach includes more than 2,800 member families, a livestream community numbering in the hundreds of thousands, and more than 800 students, from birth to twelfth grade, in the Nursery and Religious schools. It has long played a significant role in the national Reform movement and is known for its innovation and leadership in worship, leading to a greatly expanded audience over the last two decades.

Central Synagogue in Manhattan is looking for part-time teachers in the LCLJ, our PreK-12th grade religious school, for the  school year. We follow a Project-Based Learning curriculum, so this is an amazing opportunity for anyone interested in this model to get some hands-on experience. We are looking for teachers on Mondays through Thursdays at our midtown location and Tuesdays‑Thursdays at our downtown location (exact location TBD).

Hours are approximately 4:00 pm‑6:30 pm, with exact timing dependent on day and grade. You can teach between one and four days - all four not required! Job responsibilities include classroom teaching, Hebrew lesson creation, and communication with families. Much support is provided to all part‑time educators by our full‑time team, including fully written PBL lessons. Feel free to reach out to lclj with questions;
