York Prep School is seeking a High School Spanish Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year.
You will be responsible for teaching up to four sections of Spanish in grades 9–12 and taking on faculty duties as assigned. In this role, you will design engaging lessons that balance grammar, vocabulary, speaking practice and cultural studies, while incorporating themes of social justice and identity. You will report to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Humanities and collaborate with the Department Chair to ensure high-quality instruction.
Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to student life by advising, coaching or leading a club, helping to create a vibrant and inclusive school community.
This is a permanent, full‑time role. The expected start date is 1st September 2026 (with an expectation to attend orientation during the last week of August).

Who We Are Looking ForYou are fluent in written and spoken Spanish, ideally as a native speaker, and passionate about working with high school students. You bring strong classroom management skills and experience with current world‑language methodologies, including Comprehensible Input and the SOMOS curriculum. You know how to differentiate instruction for diverse learners and use technology and data to inform teaching. You value collaboration, effective communication and culturally responsive pedagogy.
A bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
