Position Summary
The Instructional Designer collaborates with content experts and educational technologists to design and develop education courses for NYU Meyers. Work with various departments to create, implement, and assess the effectiveness of course materials delivered in person, in a hybrid format, through blended learning, or online with technological enhancements. Leverage established resources, evidence-based teaching methods, and expertise in educational technology tools like Articulate Storyline 360, while effectively implementing project management practices to lead course development.
Qualifications- Required
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area - Preferred Education: Master's Degree related to learning/instructional design/technology strongly preferred
- Required Experience: 3+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience designing and developing interactive learning experiences for face‑to‑face, hybrid, and/or online environments at the higher education level. Experience applying instructional design and pedagogical principles. Familiarity implementing project plans.
- Preferred Experience: 3+ years experience with design and development of innovative online learning courses and curricula. Experience working with educational technology vendors.
- Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated project management experience, managing educational technology pilots and/or research experience, demonstrated understanding of educational pedagogy, particularly in relation to online teaching and learning, experience developing learning material using one or more of the following:
Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, etc. - Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience with STEM subjects
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
