Global School Brooklyn (GSB) is hiring a Lead Kindergarten Teacher to launch our new Spanish Immersion Kindergarten Program
. This is a unique opportunity for an educator who is passionate about bilingual education, early childhood learning, and curriculum design to shape a new program from the ground up.
GSB is a progressive, inquiry-based independent school that fosters global citizenship, creativity, and multilingualism. Our Spanish Immersion track builds on our school’s commitment to bilingual education, joining our German program as part of our multicultural learning community.
Responsibilities- Teach core Kindergarten subjects entirely in Spanish using developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based, and student-centered practices.
- Create a warm, joyful, and culturally responsive classroom environment that supports young learners’ social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Engage in IB PYP training and implementation as needed.
- Design and implement the inaugural Spanish Immersion Kindergarten curriculum, aligned with GSB’s mission, bilingual framework, and early childhood standards.
- Collaborate with the Head of Lower School to ensure vertical alignment from Preschool through Lower School.
- Develop engaging thematic units that foster literacy, numeracy, cultural understanding, and independent thinking.
- Work closely with the Kindergarten teaching team.
- Partner with families to build a strong home–school connection and communicate regularly about student learning.
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.
- Contribute to shaping and refining the Spanish Immersion program as it expands in future years.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field strongly preferred. - Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with strong proficiency in English.
- Experience teaching Kindergarten or early elementary grades.
- Demonstrated success in inquiry-based, play-based, or bilingual/dual language settings.
- Experience with or interest in curriculum development, particularly in a bilingual or immersion context.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and global learning.
- Collaborative spirit, flexibility, and enthusiasm for shaping a new program.
- Be part of a growing bilingual school deeply committed to global citizenship and progressive education.
- Lead the launch of a new Spanish Immersion track, with the opportunity to develop curriculum and shape long-term program design.
- Teach in a supportive, creative, and international community of educators.
- Salary Range $65000 - $85000
