Description Overview

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (LPA) houses one of the world's most extensive combinations of circulating, reference, and rare archival collections in dance, film, music, recorded sound and theatre. These materials are available free of charge to all cardholders, along with a wide range of special programs, including exhibitions, seminars, and performances. In a city that is fueled by new arts and artists, we provide a home for everyone who has an interest in the performing arts - from kids attending story times, through students working on school projects, researchers creating new works based in the collections and lifelong learners who visit to engage with new interests and their communities.

The LPA Circulation team is at the heart of our busy first floor, often welcoming patrons to the Library and providing the initial engagement in a sometimes overwhelming building.
