Alpha School employs AI-driven 1:1 instruction, enabling students to complete their core academic work in roughly two hours each day. The remaining time is dedicated to developing life competencies, exploring personal interests, and fostering meaningful development. At our most demanding campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor capable of assessing group dynamics, establishing standards, and guiding them through obstacles such as resistance, distraction, and uncertainty.

This is not a conventional teaching position. You will not deliver lectures, assign grades, or develop lesson plans. Your focus will be on coaching. You will facilitate structured life-skills training. You will interpret performance data to identify what limits a student's progress, then apply pressure with precision and empathy until they execute.

• Facilitate 1:1 and small-group coaching engagements that translate student ambitions into reliable action and quantifiable outcomes
• Leverage analytics and individual objectives to identify obstacles and design tailored, high-expectation motivation strategies
• Lead intensive life-skills sessions grounded in authentic examples, guided reflection, and practical application, followed by competency assessment
• Conduct daily opening sessions that establish culture, uphold rigorous standards, and prepare students before work begins
• Build trusted mentoring connections with students and their families by maintaining high expectations, reliability, and mature judgment

• Deliver traditional instruction, classroom lectures, or academic tutoring
• Develop course content, construct lesson frameworks, or evaluate academic assignments
• Supervise staff, oversee site operations, or assume broader administrative duties
• Compromise standards for immediate compliance or superficial results

Ensure that students at Alpha's most rigorous campuses remain consistently motivated and demonstrate sustained development and mastery of life skills through elite, high-standards coaching.

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• At least one verifiable elite marker (competitive athletics, academic distinction, professional accomplishment, or elite-level coaching)
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or leadership roles that produced measurable improvements in others' performance
• Confidence working in high-accountability settings with explicit standards and consistent execution
• Capability to facilitate engaging, demanding group sessions and provide one-on-one coaching with sound judgment
• Willingness to work full-time on-site at an Alpha campus:
  San Francisco, CA;
  Santa Barbara, CA; or New York City, NY
• Authorization to work legally in the United States

• Proven ability to use performance data and analytics to inform coaching strategies and maintain accountability
• History in competitive organizations, high-growth startups, or elite athletic programs with demanding performance cultures
